Right...Just as Dan is about to say his mothers name, the island hops again. I think if it was someone we hadn't already come across, we may have heard the name. This led me to think it is someone we have already encountered on the show.
Ms Hawking already has a link to Oxford, she is clearly seen in the picture with Brother Campbell on the desk in 'Catch-22'. Not just in Oxford, but at Oxford University at the exact same spot Desmond met Daniel the first time round.
Dan is very knowledgeable on time travel, he doesn't just know how it works, he knows all the rules that go with jumping back through space and time, as does Ms Hawking. Perhaps he learnt some of what he knows from his mother?
I know it isn't much to go on but these few little bits of information lead me to believe that Daniel Faraday's mother is the one and only time traveling Ms Hawking.
